Arlene's story: a 'guaranteed rental income' promise and two mortgages to carry

Owner testimonials · · 2 min read · Updated Oct 25, 2026

Arlene is a member of the SIREG Investor Recovery Coalition who invested through The Simple Investor. This is Arlene’s story, in their own words.

In Arlene’s words

We are modest people who worked tirelessly for over 25 years to own our home (still paying mortgage payments) and bought into the 'guarantee rental income' investment promised by SIREG. We wanted this for a little income after we (were supposed to) retired in 5 years and/or for 'generational wealth/income' for our two girls. Now, we are worried sick about how we will pay this mortgage with no rental income as well as the mortgage on our own home. I have suffered bouts of depression, anxiety and physical illness since receiving messages of mismanagement by SIREG. I wish we had never invested and trusted Todd C. Slater, his staff and board of directors.
