Camille C. Written statement October 6, 2026

Hi everyone, my name is Camille and I purchased my unit in February 2023. I was 26 years old at the time and was really looking to get started in the real estate world, hoping that an investment property would help me afford my first home with my then boyfriend, now husband! What had initially attracted me to the Simple Investor was the “hands-off” approach to real estate management. I am a Registered Nurse, and at the time they also had a promotion for frontline workers. My dad had heard about the Simple Investor through countless radio ads and had thought it was a good investment at the time. However, almost 3 years later and the property is yet to be profitable. My husband and I have also recently purchased our first home together! While we are trying our best to be excited, it is now instead being overshadowed by the possibility of not being able to make payments due to SIREG’s rental payments being delayed with no date in sight. Not only do I want out, I just want answers.

Carlo Cortese 2501481 Ontario Ltd. 14.66% JV partner in 10 Cartier Court , Brockville September 29, 2021 I invested in a Joint Venture with The Simple Investor. My friend George P. told me about this investment receive 30% each year for 2 years on my investment, possibly I would receive before the 2 year mark. After the 2 years were up George kept telling me they had a delay in converting from rental units to condominums but in a few months it should be resolved. After 3-4 months contacted him again and he had another excuse, excuse after excuse and led on upto August 20, 2026 last time I spoke to him . We left it that 6 months earlier I told him convert my investment into 7 units anywhere he had them available and give me the best price possible, again I was waiting and waiting and calling him and asking for the proposal but nothing was getting done , he told me Todd Slater was sick etc etc. I wanted the units so at least I can receive the rental income rather then receiving nothing for 5 years that passed. Anyways now I received this bad news from George P. in a text message saying he was sorry he didnt know how to explain this he felt bad. Carlo Cortese

Janet J. Written statement October 6, 2026

Our Retirement and Our Trust Have Been Shaken My Husband and I invested in these properties because we believed we were building a secure future for ourselves and our family. These investments represented years of work, sacrifice and savings, and they were intended to form an important part of our retirement. Today, it feels as though our lives have been turned upside down. It is extremely difficult to put into words the disbelief, stress and uncertainty we feel over what has happened with SIREG and The Simple Investor. We trusted the people and organizations involved to properly manage these investments and the homes connected to them. We never imagined that years later we would find ourselves worried about our retirement savings, our properties, the tenants living in them and what happens next. What makes this especially difficult is knowing that we are not alone. There are many innocent investors and families trying to understand what has happened and how they can protect what they spent years building. We also cannot forget the tenants. Behind every investment property is a real home. There are individuals and families who depend on these properties for shelter and stability. The consequences of what is happening therefore extend far beyond investors. They can affect tenants who had nothing whatsoever to do with the financial or management decisions that created this situation. Rental-property owners also contribute significantly to Ontario communities. We pay property taxes to municipalities, utility costs, condominium expenses, maintenance and repairs, insurance and many other expenses that support local businesses and communities. Most importantly, responsible rental-property investment helps provide housing for Ontario families. That is why this situation is about much more than money. My husband and I are deeply disappointed and struggling to understand how Todd and the people responsible for these companies allowed matters to reach this point. We trusted them with an important part of our financial future. We believed that the interests of property owners and tenants were being responsibly looked after. We now have to deal with uncertainty that we never expected at this stage of our lives. At the same time, seeing investors come together through this coalition has given us something extremely important: information, organization and a collective voice. I hope that by sharing our experience and working together, investors can uncover the facts, protect their properties and legal rights, support the tenants affected by this situation, and ultimately hold the appropriate people and organizations accountable through the proper legal and regulatory processes. For my Husband and me, this is our retirement savings. For another investor, it may represent decades of work. And for a tenant, it is their home. Those are real lives behind the numbers, and they should never be forgotten.

My husband and I bought three properties from The Simple Investor with the promise of guaranteed rent and a "hands off" system of being a landlord. The goal was never to get rich quick, but rather set our children up for the future... give them a head start. Never in a million years did I think I'd be in this position... no incoming rent and mortgages to pay. We cannot sustain this long term and fear that it will all be lost due to Todd's mismanagement.

William C. Written statement September 29, 2026

Hello, my name is William. I saved money through working. I have no pension, as I am self employed, and I needed to think about how to fund my retirement. I purchased a condo at Kipp's Lane in London 5 years ago.up to now I have been satisfied that my investment in this property is secure. Now I wonder how I am supposed to pay the mortgage on this property, let alone fund a retirement (I will be 68 next month). Also, 2 years ago, I forwarded $100,000 for a Joint Venture program in North Bay. It was supposed to pay off within a year, however I was told that there were bureaucratic hurdles to be overcome, and I trusted that these were being handled. I am now not confident that I will see that money again, even having talked to a person named George a number of times (last time in August), who stated that even though there were some outstanding issues, my investment was secure.

Ewhan R. Written statement September 29, 2026

My name is Ewhan Orest Ruzycky, commonly called Evan. In 2001 I inherited some money but there was an email scam which convinced our real estate lawyer to send all house sale proceeds to another bank account. At this time I also purchased a Kipps Lane condo with Simple but had to ask for my deposit back due to the house sale loss, complete fraud and gross negligence. Our real estate lawyer didn't even call us for a bank change. My girlfriend at the time let me into her home as I had nowhere else to go. In 2004 I received a partial payout from LawPro Error & Ommissions and used $100k of the proceeds to invest in a Windsor-JV with Sireg/SimpleInvestor. I chose this investment because I was told it would be 18months at 45% return and it fit my requirements of pursuing my future with my girlfriend because her son was going to be 18 at that time and we could move on. I could either get 45% return or purchase a unit and get cash flow. I began contacting George every few months for about a year after that but didn't hear back. Finally, he got on a call with me and told me that I could bankroll my investment into another unit and keep the money in the company. But I just wanted my $100k + 45% ROI back immediate. So I held out. Another year had gone by and I wasn't getting anywhere with Simple. It is now 2.5yrs later and I learn that I lost another $100k. I have never owned a home and felt that my inheritance would help this. However, this is the 3rd time I have now lost a real estate transaction in the last 5yrs. I still own nothing and am now out another $100k It has been a very difficult 5yrs for me and I have considered bankruptcy a number of times. I need my money back $100k and the 45% ROI written in the contract.
