Condo owners · Every unit counts
Register your unit.
Together, owners decide who runs our buildings.
You bought your unit to protect your family’s future. Right now, many owners feel they have no say in what happens to their building, their rent payments or their savings. You are not alone, and you are not powerless.
Under Ontario’s Condominium Act, 1998, owners acting together can call an owners’ meeting and vote on who sits on their condo board, and the board decides who manages the building. It all starts with one thing: knowing how many of us there are. That is what this page is for.
This is about every owner, including owners of a single unit. Tenants and Joint Venture, MIC and other Simple Investor investors are part of the same coalition, and each person always decides for themselves whether to take part.
47 tenants have asked to be connected with their owner, and 32 are still waiting to be matched. Register your unit and we can put you in touch. How it works
Your unit also shows up in My Investments When you are signed in, the unit you register here is added to your My Investments page automatically, so you only type it once. We will mark anything still missing, such as whether you have a tenant, and you can finish it there in a minute. Not signed in? Sign in first.
Register your unit
Two minutes. Your details stay private; we only ever show how many units have signed up.
Call an owners’ meeting
Owners of at least 15% of the voting units can sign a requisition for a meeting (Condominium Act, s. 46). The board must hold it within 35 days; if it doesn’t, the owners may call it themselves.
Vote on the board
Directors can be removed when owners of more than 50% of all voting units vote in favour, in person or by proxy (s. 33). The board then decides on the building’s management.
Why now
Every week that passes is another week of not knowing. The sooner enough owners register, the sooner a meeting can be requisitioned, and the sooner owners can have their say.
Doing this together, in one place, is also the most affordable way. Acting as one group may reduce legal costs for everyone, and could avoid the need for a second legal retainer.
Your neighbours are counting on the same thing you are. Every single unit counts.
The Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO) has appointed an inspector on a matter related to SIREG Management, and the coalition is working with the CMRAO.
Where each building stands
Counts only: we never show who registered. Voting units come from the public condominium registry. The line markers show the two goals: 15% to call a meeting and more than 50% to vote on the board.

Important to know
- A requisition must be signed by owners of at least 15% of the voting units and describe the purpose of the meeting. A requisition to remove directors must name them and give the reasons (Condominium Authority of Ontario).
- Only owners who appear in the corporation’s record of owners count. Owners who have lost the right to vote (for example, common-expense arrears of more than 30 days) cannot requisition a meeting.
- Removing a director needs owners of more than 50% of all voting units to vote in favour, not just a majority of those present (s. 33). Different rules can apply to a first board appointed by the developer, and to seats reserved for owner-occupied units.
- Only the board, not individual owners, can end the corporation’s contract with a management company. The contract’s terms and the condominium’s documents matter, so counsel will review each building.
- The official requisition and signature forms are published by the CAO: requisition template · owners’ meetings and proxies. Registering here is not a requisition or a proxy, and no one will sign anything on your behalf.
- This page is general information, not legal advice. Timing and outcomes depend on each building’s documents and on the owners’ votes.
